  • Business Development Leader – Defense Research and Technology Confidential Our client is a leader and pioneer in the field of versatile, high-performance missile and rocket technology, advanced Responsible for all aspects of Contract Funded Research and Development (CRAD) and Independent Research and Development (IRAD) activities. Customers include the U. S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps, NASA, DARPA, and foreign nations approved by the U. S. Department of State. This is an opportunity to work in a rapidly developing field related to the application of state-of-the-art technology, to the defense industry. The Business Development Leader (BDL) will lead a highly qualified team of professionals to identify customer needs and develop customer specific and industry applications. The BDL will drive business development efforts through the application of their leadership positions in system design, development and commercialization by leveraging the use of existing technology and systems integration methods. The BDL will lead a team of professionals of from several disciplines to meet customer needs. The BDL must be able to coordinate resources working with research and technology functions in a highly technical but entrepreneurial business area. The ideal candidate will have led a business development unit within the aerospace or defense industry or within a major university research institute or incubator program such as Johns Hopkins, Georgia Tech or MIT. The Leader is responsible for activities supporting technology development including advances in MEMS/Nano-technologies, EO/IR, RF technologies, Image & Information fusion, Sputtering, and other emerging technologies. In addition, the BDL will have demonstrated the ability to grasp complex programs to grow the business by applying technology in novel and creative ways. The ability to think “out of the box,” coupled with the ability to develop strong partnerships with customers, is required An advanced technical degree is preferred with relevant business development experience a must. A MS is required, but strong candidates holding a technical BS coupled with a MBA and relevant experience may be acceptable. Candidates with a PhD coupled with commensurate business development experience will be given strong consideration.   • Project Manager I'm a consultant at a small consulting company here in Austin that services community banks across the country. We have over 300 clients and are adding about 25-35 new clients a month. We are well financed with over 100 employees and will cross into profitability in first quarter of 2008. The company is now in the rapid expansion phase of its lifecycle. We need project managers who can manage multiple projects deploying our software to our clients. Ideally, someone with a banking background or some knowledge of a banking environment is desirable. However, I've never met a Service Academy Grad that couldn't figure something new out pretty quickly.
